North Texas Cat Rescue

Adoptions:

Joey Misty and TysonNorth Texas Cat Rescue takes in cats and kittens from Collin County Animal Shelter, rescues abandoned felines from other locations and those surrendered by owners to the extent of our resources and of foster home availability.

We do our best to take in our system cats/kittens that are injured, too young to survive on their own, pregnant or nursing mother cats etc… foster them, vet them and place them through our adoption program in loving permanent home.

Please note: At this time, NTCR cannot take any surrendered cats or kittens into our system. If you have need to surrender any cats or kittens please contact the Collin County Animal Shelter.

NTCR places the rescues in foster care for re-socializing, regularly running adoption days at Groom and Son on Virginia Pkwy and Petsmart in McKinney. We also manage the permanent adoption center, Luv-A-Pet, inside Petsmart in McKinney.

Starting October 14, 2008 all kittens and cats entering our adoption program will receive the FelV ( Feline Leukemia) vaccine in addition to FVRCP. These recommendations are consistent with the vaccination guidelines developed by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). All of our cats and kittens have tested negative for FelV and FIV, have all appropriate immunizations for their age, have been spayed/neutered, wormed and deflead.

The adoption fee is $ 110.00 for those cats that have recieved the FeLV vaccine. The fee for those vaccinated prior to October 14th, will remain $95.00. Payments may be made by cash or check only at the time of the adoption.

Adoption Policy:

We will not hold a cat or kitten.

All adoptions are first come first serve except when there may be multiple requests for one animal. In the event of multiple requests, we will take your application and make a decision based on the needs of the cat/kitten and the best fit with the potential adopter.

Adopters must:

Kitty of the Week

Howie

Howie loves to have his belly rubbed and will roll over for you to do it. He is most definitely a lap cat and will love on you for as long as you pet him. He also loves to run around and play with his furry foster siblings. He loves to wrestle with the other cats in his foster home. He is used to dogs and children and will do well with either or both.

Howie is not a fan of attending adoption events as he is used to being in a home environment. The cages at adoption events are a new place for him and he much prefers to be free in the home to go where he pleases.

You can see more about Howie here.
